Fans of Atlanta United FC who attend this year’s Taste of East Cobb have a chance to win an official Atlanta United FC soccer ball signed by last year’s championship winning team. The Taste of East Cobb will be held this Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068.

Atlanta United FC has a prominent presence in Cobb County, and recently took steps toward an expansion of its training facility here.

In addition to Atlanta United’s raffle prize, a press release for Taste of Cobb County states, “The event features an Atlanta United 2 sports area where players can get Rowdy & Proud before Star Wars Night at Fifth Third Stadium.”

Dan Curran, who is providing publicity for the event, told the Courier in an email. “(The soccer ball) was signed by all of the guys on the roster. Chances are $5 each or five for $20 and will be sold at the event’s ticket booth. The drawing will be held at 4:30 p.m.”

This will be the 14th Taste of East Cobb.

“The Most Delicious Saturday of the Year promises to be memorable with Taste of East Cobb bringing people of all ages together to celebrate our vibrant community,” said Gregg Maynard, event chair. “Plan to join us on Saturday for a great day of family, food, and fun!”

According to the press release, “Taste of East Cobb showcases the best of East Cobb’s local restaurant talent with chefs offering a delicious variety of tastings from their menus. All restaurant featured ‘tastes’ will be offered at only 1-5 tickets per serving, so make sure to arrive HUNGRY!”

The Taste of East Cobb will feature performances all day by local high school jazz bands.  There will also be a kid zone with inflatables and hands-on activities, and a silent auction.
