Cobb County police are investigating a homicide on Westside Drive near Marietta.
According to a press release from Sgt. Wayne Delk, the Crimes Against Persons Unit is handling the investigation.
The press release states:
An unidentified Hispanic male was found deceased in a trailer at 105 Westside Drive, Marietta GA 30008 on August 17, 2019. He had several gunshot wounds. When Cobb officers initially arrived at approximately 4:42 p.m. to investigate a trouble unknown call in the area, they were told by bystanders that several gunshots were heard coming from the trailer at 105. Officers were also told that a female had been seen running from the trailer afterwards, yelling for help. Investigators are still working on gathering information about the unknown victim and the unknown witness seen running from the scene.
The victim remains unidentified. And the witness who was reportedly last seen running from the scene has not yet been found.

Crimes Against Persons
The Crimes Against Persons Division of the Cobb County Police Department is broken down into several specialized units, to investigate homicides, robberies, technology-based crime, domestic violence and stalking, and crimes against children. It has a unit that does crime analysis to identify evidence to help link cases and identify suspects.
The division also houses the Crime Scene Unit that according to the division’s website “is responsible for documenting and processing crime scenes to locate evidence, identify suspects, and to present evidence in criminal proceedings. Crime scene technicians are responsible for processing evidence utilizing a variety of procedures for fingerprint, DNA, and trace evidence.”
