The ongoing resurfacing work on State Road 360/Powder Springs Road continues this weekend, and as usual, the lane closures will continue.
The scope of the resurfacing stretches along Powder Springs Road from Windy Hill to Sandtown Roads, with the goal of improving the surface of the roadway.
The Georgia Department of Transportation describes the dates and the hours the lanes will be closed as follows:
Weather and on-site conditions permitting single “rolling” lane closures will be installed on Powder Springs Road northbound and southbound between Sandtown Road and Macland Road from 9 p.m. on Friday, February 4 until 5 a.m. on Monday, February 7. Crews will be working at various locations throughout the weekend and the lane closures will “roll” as they move from one location to another.
AdvertisementCrews will be raising manholes and adjusting traffic signal loops along the roadway. This $2.4 million project is scheduled for completion in spring 2022.

As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
