We’ve had two days of red flag warning, and now we’re under another high fire danger alert, due to low relative humidity.
A special weather statement from the National Weather Service, stated that Cobb County and most of the rest of north and central Georgia are under a high fire danger warning.
What does the special weather statement say?
The special weather statement states the following:
…HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES…
Relative Humidities of 25 percent or less can be expected for 4 or more hours this afternoon into the evening . Winds will be northwest at 7 to 12 MPH with gusts up to 17 MPH possible this afternoon.
With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
