Weather service cautions possible strong storms, locally heavy rainfall for Cobb County and region Tuesday July 12

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Cobb County and much of the rest of north Georgia due to the prospect of scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday July 12.

The brunt of the scattered storms are expected along the I-20 corridor and southward.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible today primarily along and

south of I-20. Some storms could become strong producing gusty

winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday…

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will be possible each

afternoon and evening across the forecast area this week. Isolated

storms could become strong, capable of producing gusty winds and

frequent lightning. Heavy rainfall associated with these storms

could also lead to localized flash flooding concerns.
