Hazardous weather outlook for Cobb County: chance of thunderstorms with marginal chance of severe storms to the south

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for  Cobb County and other counties in the region due to the possibility of thunderstorms.  South of Atlanta those storms have a marginal chance of becoming severe, including the slight possibility of of a tornado.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather south of Atlanta today

and tonight. Damaging winds are the primary concern, though a

brief tornado or isolated storm with large hail are possible. The

peak period for severe activity is expected between 3 PM and 9 PM

today. Additional storms will occur tonight, but the risk of

severe weather is lower.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday…

A couple of thunderstorms could linger in the region through

Sunday morning, but they shouldn`t pose a severe risk.
