Cobb County announced in a news release that it’s partnering with MUST Ministries to provide warming shelter for those without heat as the temperatures plunge to freezing.
MUST Ministries operates the Hope House Shelter at at 1297 Bells Ferry Road in Marietta.
The shelter opens as a warming shelter when the National Weather Service predicts freezing temperatures.
Cobb County’s role is to provide transportation and bus vouchers to people who need to get to the warming shelter.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners allocated $108,000 for the warming shelter initiative to get people from other parts of the county to the shelter.
The funds allow for two daily pickups near the Silver Comet trail, and bus vouchers for others who need transportation.

According to the county’s news release, “As the program evolves, pickup locations and bus voucher distribution could be expanded,”
