Avid community volunteer and advocate Barry Krebs submitted reports and photos from two recent events in Cobb County: a litter cleanup on and around Cityview Drive in Mableton, and the Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club Car Show:
Cleanup on Cityview Drive
Barry submitted the following report and photos from a litter cleanup in Mableton:
Pay It Forward believes that it is important to keep the Six Flags area looking good due to all of the visitors. They along with a little help from the Friends Of Mableton and Lions Club removed 22 bags of litter from their adopted Cityview Drive, Six Flags Pkwy and Felton Lane. We appreciate Melissa Neal for leading the cleanup. It was perfect weather for spending time outdoors.
If you or your civic organization is interested in adopting your own mile, please contact Dawn at keepcobbbeautiful@cobbcounty.org . She will furnish you with the supplies and signage.
Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club Car Show
Barry submitted the following report from the Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club Car Show:
The Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club hosted their 12th Annual Car Show at Adventure Outdoors on Saturday. There was plenty of food, drinks provided by Mom’s Donuts Food Truck. Lulu’s Vintage provided the music. The Smyrna Kiwanis Club who does lots in the community to assist with student education joined in the fun too. The weather was perfect as the beautiful cars kept arriving to compete. While the judges had a very difficult time deciding on the winners, all competitors seemed to agree with their final decisions. The Lions had a blast as the event went perfectly. We appreciate help from District Governor Wes Gifford and the South Cobb Lions Club.
