Cobb County School District average SAT ninth in state, beating state and national averages

Cobb County School District ranked in the top 10 for Georgia’s 2024 average SAT scores with an average score of 1105, coming in above the state and national averages of 1030 and 995 respectively.
Of the top 10, it also had the largest number of students take the test.

Cobb’s average climbed one point from 2023’s average of 1104.
The 2024 average for reading and writing was 565, up four points from 561 in 2023, and 540 in math, down 23 points from 2023’s average of 563.
Forsyth County and Decatur City ranked first and second respectively. Cherokee County came in at 13 with an average of 1083. Fulton County and Marietta City Schools both had average scores of 1063.
Gwinnett had the largest number of test takers in the state at 11,196 at more than double the Fulton and Cobb districts, which had the second and third highest number of test takers. Gwinnett received an average score of 1016.
Walton High School students earned the highest average score in Cobb County at 1249.
