Frost advisory for parts of Georgia today, patchy frost might return Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Cobb County and other parts of the region until Thursday, October 17, at 9 a.m. Patchy frost might arrive again on Friday morning.

What is in the alert?

The statement gives the following details:

…FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM EDT THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Temperatures as low as 34 will result in frost formation.

* WHERE…Portions of north central, northeast, northwest, and west

  central Georgia.

* WHEN…From 3 AM to 9 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive

  outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north and central Georgia.

Sub-freezing temperatures will occur across the northeastern

mountains with areas of frost across the remainder of North

Georgia and portions of Central Georgia this morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday…

Patchy frost may occur across portions of North Georgia on Friday

morning. Frost is possible in the northeast mountains again

Saturday and Sunday mornings.
