Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta distributed the following announcement about the fundraiser game, cosponsored by the Atlanta Braves, between UGA and Georgia Tech:
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Atlanta Braves are pleased to announce the 23rd annual Spring Classic baseball game between the No. 5-ranked University of Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 3-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The game will once again be held at Truist Park and will take place on Tuesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. The Spring Classic is the only game taking place this spring between the two rivals. There will be special opportunities for families to meet Braves mascot BLOOPER, Hope and Will, Buzz and Hairy Dawg during the game.
“Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is excited to once again partner with the Atlanta Braves, the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech for the Spring Classic baseball game at Truist Park,” said Linda Matzigkeit, Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s. “Every year our organizations come together with the community to raise money for Children’s, in support of our amazing patient families. We can’t wait to be back in Truist Park on April 21, cheering on two beloved, local collegiate teams.”
Since its inception in 2003, the Spring Classic game between the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech has raised more than $4.5 million dollars for Children’s and the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
“We are proud to host another annual Spring Classic event in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Truist Park,” said Jim Allen, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships at the Atlanta Braves. “Every year, we cherish the opportunity to shine a larger light on collegiate level baseball, while making a positive impact on the lives and care for all of the patients and families served by the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.”
Truist Park is also home to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Park, a 30,000-square-foot space full of interactive experiences for kids of all ages located at the Left Field Plaza at Truist Park, which opened in April 2025. In partnership with the Atlanta Braves, this space features amenities designed specifically for kids and their families, including batting cages, a rock-climbing tower and specialized concessions and merchandise. It also features a 480-square-foot board on the Delta Deck that allows families to keep up with the Braves game while simultaneously enjoying the Park, among other exciting and engaging activations.
