An E-bike rider was seriously injured in a Monday morning collision with a car in Mableton.

Police say shortly before 8:50 a.m., a gray 2008 Mercedes Benz  S was headed eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway at its intersection with Mableton Parkway. At the same timer, a black electric bike was traveling southbound crossing Veterans Memorial Highway in the crosswalk from Floyd Road and against the pedestrian signal.

The right front of the Mercedes collided with the rear tire of the e-bike, sending both out of control. The Mercedes continued east and came to rest in a parking lot off Veterans Highway.

The electric bike wound up in the right eastbound lane of Veterans.

The E-bike rider was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. Police have not released his name.

The driver of the Mercedes wasn’t hurt.

Anyone with any information on the collision is asked to call Cobb traffic investigators at 770-499-3987.
