A business fire in Mableton left four people injured Thursday morning.  A Cobb  County fire official told the Courier in an e-mail that the blaze started about 11 a.m.  a Mercado (neighborhood market) with an attached kitchen in the 7000 block of Mableton Parkway.

Fire officials say the blaze erupted in the kitchen and employees tried to put it out but were unsuccessful. Fire crew arrived and attacked the blaze while searching for possible victims, but it turned out that the building had already been evacuated.

Two employees were taken to the hospital with smoke-related injuries while two firefighters were treated on-scene for heat and exertion-related issues.

Fire officials didn’t give the name of the market but there is a business listing for a La Casita 2 restaurant at 7017 Mableton Parkway.

There’s been no word as to the cause of the blaze.
