The body of a male was discovered this morning in Nickajack Creek below the bridge on the Silver Comet Trail.

Sgt. Pierce of the Cobb County Police Department told River Edges that at 7:08 a.m. a walker on the Silver Comet Trail, crossing the Nickajack Creek bridge, noticed a pair of shoes and socks on the trail.  The walker looked down and saw what appeared to be a body, face down in the water, and called the police.

As of 9:30 a.m. the police have classified the incident as a “death investigation” pending a report from the medical examiner.  No approximate age for the deceased has been determined.
