Lucille Creek Trail (Slideshow)

Lucille Creek Trail (photo by Larry Felton Johnson)

Lucille Creek Trail is in Powder Springs.  It crosses the Silver Comet Trail near the Highway 278 bridge, about a third of a mile from the Silver Comet Trail’s Florence Road Trailhead. This paved trail is a little over a mile long and extends from a trail parking lot at Shipp Road to Powder Springs Dallas Road.  It runs alongside the small creek and over marshy areas.

One “gotcha” we discovered is that the Shipp Road parking lot for the trail is on the opposite side of the creek from Lucille Creek Trail.  Consequently, we walked along a grassy, unfinished footpath until we realized we weren’t on the trail.  To access the trail from the parking lot, go to the sidewalk on Shipp Road and walk to the other side the creek.

Watch the slideshow below (then see the interactive Google map below that for directions).
