Do you have a bunch of 20+-year-old containers with little flame symbols stashed away in storage rooms and crawl spaces? Cleaning supplies that you’re not even sure work anymore? Cooking oil you’ve been saving for your dream of producing bio-diesel to run your car?
If you are stuck with hazardous waste that your trash pickup service won’t touch with a ten-foot dumpster, assemble those scary items and head over to Jim Miller Park this morning, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
This service is free for Cobb County residents, but no commercial vehicles are allowed. The limit on paint is 10 gallons per vehicle.
Items accepted include mercury, aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, photo chemicals, lawn care products, fluorescent light bulbs, hobby and artists’ supplies, paint and paint-related products, cleaners and swimming pool chemicals.
Items not accepted include ammunition, pharmaceuticals, agricultural waste, radioactive materials and biohazardous/biomedical waste.
Jim Miller Park is located at 2245 Callaway Road NE, Marietta (see interactive map at the bottom of this article.
