The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held October 13 at Kennesaw State University in the Sports and Entertainment Park. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., the ceremony will start at 9 a.m., and the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
According to the announcement from Cobb Senior Services:
Every 65 seconds someone in America develops Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive brain disorder that damages and eventually destroys brain cells, leading to memory loss and changes in thinking and other brain functions. It usually develops slowly and gradually gets worse as brain function declines and brain cells eventually wither and die. Ultimately, Alzheimer’s is fatal, and currently, there is no cure.
