According to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation, there will be overnight single-lane closures on South Cobb Drive between 8 p.m. Sunday, April 21, and 5 a.m. Monday, April 22.
This is an ongoing resurfacing project.
The affected area is between Austell Road and the I-75 northbound lanes in the Marietta and Smyrna areas.
The press release states:
These closures are designed to help ensure safety for workers and drivers during patching the roadway, initial preparation for milling, inlay and resurfacing work that will improve the road’s deteriorating condition. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2019.
As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.”
