WellStar Clinical Partners ACO recognized by CMS for cost savings and patient reviews

WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO was recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for its performance in cost savings, and for its impressive patient experience reviews.

According to a press release issued on behalf of WellStar, “In addition to the $14.1 million in cost savings, which is nearly half of all the state-wide savings for CMS, the WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO achieved a quality score of 91%, and had a 92% patient satisfaction rate for care coordination. This places the WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO among the top ACOs in Georgia, and across the country.”

The press release states:

Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers who come together voluntarily to provide coordinated high-quality care to their Medicare patients. The WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO leverages its vast internal resources, expansive infrastructure and partnerships with employed and affiliated physicians to deliver compassionate, tailored, and cost-effective healthcare to the communities it serves. Since 2012, WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO has been a consistent, top performing ACO.

“The 2018 performance results show that the WellStar Clinical Partners Medicare ACO continues to provide WellStar’s Medicare beneficiaries with exceptional care, while achieving cost savings,” said Joe Havlik, M.D., West Georgia Infectious Diseases, WellStar Cobb Hospital and Board Chair for WellStar Medical Partners. “This achievement is a testament to the collaboration between our physicians, population health team, and many others across the entire WellStar Health System network.”
