Marietta will hold public review meeting for its use of the Community Development Block Grants

According to an announcement posted to the City of Marietta website, a public review meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday March 24, 2023 at 268 Lawrence Street, Suite 200 in Marietta, Georgia to receive comments on the PY2023-2027 Consolidated Plan, PY2023 Annual Action Plan, and Citizen Participation Plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Program.

The HUD Exchange describes the CDBG Program as follows:

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons.

Recipients of these federal grants are required to prepare an annual action plan.

These funds are used to provide services for low and moderate-income people of Marietta, GA. The public comment period for this review runs from March 10 to April 10, 2023.
