Avid community volunteer Barry Krebs submitted reports and photos from two volunteer events in Mableton: a litter cleanup on Whispering Pines and Pisgah roads, and the Giving Garden’s annual Pumpkin Patch.

Cleanup on Whispering Pines Road

Barry submitted the following report and photos about the litter cleanup:

The Friends Of Mableton along with some help from the South Cobb Lions Club removed 21 bags of litter from Whispering Pine Road and a section of Pisgah Road. There is a litterer on Whispering Pines Road who throws out the same litter every day. That area could be very beautiful if this person stopped littering.

Giving Garden’s annual Pumpkin Patch

Barry submitted the following report and photos about the unloading of Pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Patch:

Mableton City Council Member, Patricia Auch, stated that “many hands make light work!”. She had a great time being part of the volunteer “bucket brigade” that unloaded over 1,000 pumpkins from the truck for Our Giving Garden’s annual pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is the Garden’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Please check out all of the great things that Our Giving Garden does for our community at https://www.ourgivinggarden.org/ . Pumpkins will be available for purchase now until October 31.
