In a May 21 press release, Lockheed Martin announced that effective June 4 Michele Evans will become Deputy Executive Vice President for its Aeronautics business. Evans will report to Executive Vice President Orlando Carvalho and will be based at the Aeronautics headquarters in Fort Worth.

She will be responsible for the C-130, manufactured at the Marietta, Georgia facility, as well as the F-35, F-16,  and Advanced Development Programs.

Evans was VP and General Manager for Integrated Warfare Systems and Sensors in Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems business area, and also served as Vice President of Modernization and Sustainment, where she was responsible for the avionics programs on the C-130 and F-35, as well as the A-10 weapons system.

Carvahlo was quoted in the press release, “The variety of her experiences make Michele uniquely qualified to take on this new role. Aligning program leadership to her will enable us to maintain and enhance best practices; and further build a cohesive, strategic operating rhythm for our programs.”

Evans has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and is on Clarkson’s Coulter School of Engineering Advisory Board.
