This Thursday Jan. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. a public meeting will be held to get citizen input on design guidelines for Mableton Parkway and Veterans Memorial Highway.  It will be held  at the South Cobb Community Center at 620 Lions Club Drive, Mableton, GA 30126.

It is a hands-on workshop with activities to determine what residents think will lead to accessible, pedestrian-friendly, and sustainable corridors along those two major roadways in the Mableton community.

At the last meeting, held on Nov. 3, attendees viewed a slide show with alternative examples of features such as store-fronts, parking areas, and landscapes.  The slides were paired, so that, for instance,  there would be two examples of parking area layout.  The residents filled out a survey indicating which of the two examples they preferred for each pair of slides.  These surveys were collected, and will be used to determine what traits Mableton residents want to see in the design guidelines for the corridors.
