South Cobb celebrates Independence early with Linked UP Church. Grammy and Soul Train Music Award-winner Israel Houghton and New Breed will perform a free concert with fireworks directly after the performance. Guests can bring their own food, coolers and blankets but no grills or chairs. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. Kennesaw- Star-Spangled Spectacular

Kennesaw State University’s annual Star-Spangled Spectacular Independence Day festival offers a whole night of family-friendly activities on the Campus Green. Starting at 5 p.m., the “Family Fun Festival” includes outdoor games, giant inflatables and face painting. Food trucks, vendors and art exhibits will also be present for the festival. At 8 p.m., the KSU School of Music’s Big Band and Summer Orchestra, which features students, alumni, faculty and members of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, will perform patriotic anthems and selections from contemporary pop music. A firework show will complete the night at around 9:30 p.m. Parking is free at any available lot on campus and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic coolers. Kennesaw- Fourth of July Fireworks

This pre-Independence Day celebration is one of the largest in Cobb County. Three live bands play on two different stages throughout the night, while kids and families can enjoy food and games. This year’s headlining band is Don’t Look Back – The Boston Experience, who will play classic rock songs in honor of the band. Marietta- Fourth in the Park

The City of Marietta hosts this all-day Independence Day party. Show up early for the Marietta Freedom Parade, a 1.5-mile march featuring over 2,000 participants from local bands, businesses, pageants, National Guard and dozens of other organizations. After the parade, the square offers a whole day of family-friendly entertainment. Arts and crafts and food vendors will be available all day while kid-friendly game booths and live bands provide the entertainment. Cauble Park’s Independence Day celebration features live entertainment and a massive firework show over Lake Acworth. The night starts with live music from classic rock tribute bands the Paul Hand Band and Flashback, which can be viewed from lawn seating or a table. Tables are $50 for Acworth residents or $70 for non-residents, and purchase of a table also comes with a Cauble Park parking pass. Additional parking can be found downtown, where free shuttles will take attendees to and from the park. Food and drink vendors will be at the park starting at noon.
