The Riverside community of Austell will be celebrating National Night Out next Tuesday August 8, from 5:30 – 8 p.m at the South Cobb Recreation Center, 875 Riverside Parkway, Austell, Georgia 30168.

According to the press release for this year’s event, “National Night Out is observed nationwide to promote building strong neighborhoods and community partnerships with law enforcement and public safey departments … This year the national night out feature will be the Cobb County Safety Blitz and resource connection with We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association.”

Monica Delancy, the founder and director of We Thrive in Riverside said “The safety blitz will focus on the police department, the fire department, and animal control, for residents and neighbors to learn more about being proactive as it pertains to keeping safe.  There will be other resources there from Safe Kids.  There will be helmet checks and car seat instructions.”

We Thrive in Riverside has been sponsoring National Night Out in the Riverside community of Austell since 2009.
