If you have expired or unused medications you want to safely dispose of, Keep Cobb Beautiful is sponsoring a free event to collect them.
The event is tomorrow, Saturday October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be two drop-off locations:
1. C. Freeman Pool Senior Center located at 4025 South Hurt Road, SW, Smyrna
2. Cobb County Police Department Precinct 1, 2380 Cobb Parkway NW, Kennesaw
According to the announcement for the event:
Medications can remain in the original container and labels do not have to be removed. Everything collected will be sealed and destroyed.
Accepted Items: Prescription, over-the-counter liquids, pills, ointments, patches, creams, vials for humans and pets.
Unaccepted Items: Needles, Sharps, EpiPen, durable medical equipment (CPAP, nebulizers, etc.). No illegal drugs, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing body fluid/blood), mercury thermometers, personal care products, (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.). No household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas, etc.).
