The Georgia Department of Public Health issued an update to the press release it issued earlier in the day.
They had stated earlier that there was a possible fourth additional case, which would have brought the total to five.
However, the DPH update stated, “The Georgia Public Health Lab (GPHL) within the past hour completed testing on another possible case of measles – those test results are negative.”
So the total number of measles cases found in Cobb stands at four.
Also, earlier in the afternoon the Courier asked the Cobb County School District if they had an update to report based on today’s DPH press release.
A district spokesperson wrote, ““The District continues to operate at the direction of the Georgia Department of Health. We do not diagnose measles, outside of official notification from Cobb parents that their child has been diagnosed with measles, all questions should be directed to the Georgia Department of Public Health.”
