According to a news release from the county, NACo President Denise Winfrey appointed Cupid to chair the Economic Development Subcommittee, part of the organization’s Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee.

Winfrey became the organization’s president during its July national conference in Boulder Colorado.

“Economic development is critical in sustaining a vibrant county where residents, employees, businesses and institutions can thrive. I am grateful to lead discussions about this at a national level and to bring best practices back home to Cobb for consideration,” said Cupid.

District 4 Commissioner Monique Sheffield also received an appointment from the NACo President as a member of the Economic Mobility Leadership Network. Sheffield joins seven other county leaders newly appointed to that NACo project.

According to the NACo website the EMLN is composed of “elected leaders focused on helping residents move up the economic ladder.”

According to the news release:

The National Association of Counties is an organization designed to strengthen America’s counties. It serves nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees.
