Avid community volunteer Barry Krebs submitted the following report with photos about the third annual Cobb County Sustainability Expo:
The 3rd Annual Cobb County Sustainability Expo was jam-packed with environmental innovation, educational opportunities, and civic organizations working to provide clean solutions for litter issues.
Commission Chairwoman Cupid, Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Sheffield, and County Manager Dr. McMorris spoke about their commitment to promoting recycling within Cobb County.
Attendees may have already noticed newer county vehicles running on electricity, as well as tires made from soybean oil, which are more environmentally friendly than petroleum-based tires. Over the last several years, recycling has become much more visible in Cobb County facilities.
The event also featured entertainment by vocalist Cha Cha Martin and music from DJ Dr. Que, along with seminars focused on environmental causes.
Organizers expressed appreciation for Cobb County Sustainability Director Kimberly White for her dedication to this important initiative.
