Hazardous weather outlook for Cobb County: possibility of scattered thunderstorms that could become severe

The National Weather Service, has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Cobb County and much of the rest of north Georgia for the possibility of scattered thunderstorms.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight…

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible across central and

portions of north Georgia this afternoon, mainly along and south

of the I-85 corridor. A few storms could become strong to severe,

mainly along and south of a Athens to Macon to Columbus line. The

primary severe hazard would be damaging wind gusts. All

thunderstorms will be capable of producing frequent lightning and

locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday…

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible in east-

central Georgia on Saturday afternoon, and across portions of

north and central Georgia each afternoon from Sunday through

Thursday.

The outlook could persist through next Thursday.
