The Marietta police and fire departments seek help from the public in an arson and vandalism investigation of an incident early Monday morning, where trucks and trailers were torched and vandalized on Cobb Parkway.
Marietta Fire Marshal Captain Jason Garner made the following appeal to the public:
In the early morning hours of Monday, May 22, 2023, units from the Marietta Fire and Police Departments responded to 2201 Cobb Parkway South, beside the Golden Corral restaurant to multiple 911 calls reporting a semi-truck on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries connected to the incident. Fire Investigators from the Marietta Fire Marshal’s Office have determined that someone vandalized several trucks and trailers and set fire to a 2018 Peterbilt as well as a 2017 Freightliner. Anyone with any information regarding this incident or the individual responsible should contact Lt. Richard Franklin, at the Marietta Fire Marshal’s Office, 770-794-5464, or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline 1-800-282-5804. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for arson.
